SALEM LIVE
I TOOK THIS VIDEO FROM THE DJ BOOTH AT THE KNITTING FACTORY WITH THE BUILT-IN CAM ON MY LAPTOP. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS WAS A LIFE-ALTERING SHOW. STAY TUNED FOR HIGH-DEF FOOTAGE FROM THE OTHER SHOW LAST NIGHT (INCLUDING REALLY GOOD CROTCH GRABBING SHOTS OF MY HUSBAND JACK!!!!)
P.S.—YES, WE ARE PRETTY MUCH ONLY GOING TO BE TALKING ABOUT SALEM FROM NOW ON.

MOAR VIDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :(((
Oh siick. This is awesome. I contemplated making the 9 hour drive to see this show.
superb!
ya they were so amazing. saw the china chalet show too! what a blast!
2 questions though--- 1. is the rapping going to be on the next record or is it a kind of live joke?
2. who dj'd the chalet show? they were fucking rad!
thanks!
The rapping is no joke! In fact, it's even better on the recordings. Go to http://www.myspace.com/jjhhmm and check out Trapdoor, which they performed the other night.
The DJs at the China Chalet show were Patent Leather Daddy—that is/was Zac and I! Thanks for the kind words. We're thrilled you and everyone else came out. It was major!
Nick--- you guys were great! loved yr mock turtle neck too!
one query--- what was the crunk music (i think gucci mane was on there) that was played after the salem set?
also, do you have a setlist from the other night? there were some great cuts.
when do you dj again? i would love to dj with you!

Aw, thanks!
The rap/crunk right after Salem was from Salem member Jack's iPod. It went into a Mariah track he had, and then I took over with Janet. The rest of the rap before the show and after Janet was stuff Zac and I had, and for my part, it was a lot of basically unknown MySpace rapstresses and maybe some UK dub and bassline sampling American rap tracks.
I have some vague memories of what I played but no setlist; we did it on the fly, mostly. I don't know for sure when we're DJing, but I've heard a semi-rumor. Keep checkin' the site; we'll definitely post about any upcomings.
